Frequently asked questions
How outfits get out of the game, onto this site, and back into someone else's game. For a whole task start to finish, the guides take it step by step instead.
Getting started
What is Tekken Outfits?
A free overlay that gets outfits in and out of TEKKEN 8 on PC, and this site, where players share them. Everything is free.
What does the overlay do?
Build an outfit in the game’s editor and the overlay exports it as a .tkofile you can upload here; download someone else’s and it loads it straight into your game. It can also pull an outfit out of a replay.
Can I use the site without it?
Yes. Browsing, search and downloads work with nothing installed and no account. Every outfit page also lists every item the outfit uses, so you can rebuild it by hand in the game’s editor. Only import and export need the overlay.
How do I install the overlay?
The install page walks you through it — two steps, no installer.
How many slots can I have?
The game caps you at ten per character, but every exported .tko file is a saved slot on your disk — import it back whenever you want to wear it. Importing overwrites the slot you pick.
Playing on console
Does this work on PlayStation or Xbox?
The overlay cannot be installed on console. The next two questions cover what still works there.
I play on console. Is the site any use to me?
Yes. Every outfit page shows the preview and the full item list, so you can rebuild any outfit by hand in the game’s editor.
Can my console outfit still get on the site?
Yes, through replays: the overlay can capture an outfit from a replay on PC, even when the match was played on console. The console guide spells out what to play and who to ask.
Will console support be added later?
No. Consoles do not permit mods of any kind, so a mod like this can never run there.
Exporting and uploading
How do I export an outfit?
Open that character's slot screen and use the overlay's Export tab. Sharing your first outfit walks through it.
How do I upload an outfit?
Sign in, open Upload and pick your .tko file — everything else is read from the file. Sharing your first outfit covers it start to finish.
Downloading and importing
How do I import an outfit into my game?
Use the overlay's Import tab on that character's slot screen. Getting an outfit into your game is the whole thing step by step.
What happens if I do not own the items?
The overlay asks you to pick a replacement from items you do own before the import can run, so you never end up with a broken slot. It arranges what you have; it unlocks nothing. The import guide shows what that looks like.
About
Is this official?
No. Tekken Outfits is a fan-made project and is not affiliated with Bandai Namco. Made by players, for players.
